The Thrive In Action blog series highlights practical applications for Great Pedagogy Strategies (GPS) within the EdConnective Thrive Framework, summarized here. The EdConnective Thrive Framework is unique in that it can be applied to teaching actions seamlessly whether learning is in-person or remote. This week we get more familiar with:

Student Voice, GPS 3- Organization: The learning environment is organized, clean, and promotes collaboration between students. All student and teacher materials are prepared to maximize learning time. Students take ownership over the learning environment through set up, arrangement, naming, clear roles and responsibilities.

---

Being organized not only helps the teacher but directly impacts the students in the classroom.  We strive to have a classroom space that is organized, clean, and promotes collaboration between students.  All student and teacher materials are prepared to maximize learning time. Students take ownership over the classroom space through set up, arrangement, naming, clear roles and responsibilities.

In the classroom, teachers have all materials prepped well in advance of needing them.  They have the materials accessible in a place that allows for the quickest retrieval during the lesson.  Teachers can color code, or code items in their classroom for certain groups.  This allows students access to their materials without needing to ask the teacher.

Virtually, teachers can set up and color-code folders in your LMS to organize all materials, links and announcements that students and families need to access to be successful.  Include a calendar with due-dates and major events.  Having multiple ways to access families in a virtual setting enhances the likelihood that all families will receive it; email, Seesaw, and Class Dojo are a few of the apps that you could use.
