3 Great Tutorials on Online Learning

While a number of resources exist on how to set up a virtual classroom, these three brief tutorials have been designed with launching an remote learning amid the current COVID-19 crisis.  Check these out!

1. Launch and Lead an Equitable Online Classroom, from the Leading Equity Center

This training is hosted by Dr. Sheldon L. Eakins and features Marcus Borders, an EdTech specialist from Kennesaw State University.  With a total running time just over an hour, this training breaks down online teaching during the Coronavirus school closures down into short videos around the topics of setting up your classroom, managing your classroom and assessment strategies.  The particular focus on equity and access is particularly relevant. This is a good resource for teachers and school leaders at all phases of implementing online learning.

2. Intro to Online Learning during COVID-19, from Blair Blur

This webinar is hosted by Blair Mishleau, an EdConnective coach and EdTech consultant.  With a running time of 25 minutes, this training helps teachers prioritize the most important things to consider in transitioning to teaching online amidst the current crisis. This webinar focuses on providing stability and sustaining relationships, and makes a number of suggestions of helpful resources.  This is helpful for teachers and school leaders who are transitioning to remote learning of all forms.

3. How to Create an Online Classroom, from Stanford Online High School

This is a good introduction to the basic structure of online teaching, including some of the basic terminology.  This is ideal for a teacher who is just getting started and will be teaching a fully online classroom. The training is broken into 5 segments with a total time just under an hour.
